NOTD: Lady Sings the Blues

First off, I would like to thank Nail'd & Polish'd for having a contest & giving me the opportunity to win this ^__^ It's my first bottle of Deborah Lippmann! Now I just need to get one of her other nail polish (or two or three) that I've been longing for, Happy Birthday, a bottle full of rainbow glitters! Maybe I'll get that for myself on my upcoming birthday.

Lady Sings the Blue

This looks horrible because you can see the blanket dents I got from going to sleep right after I painted my nails. Ha. =P Anyways, the day after I painted Deborah Lippmann Lady Sings the Blues, I was not really satisfied with the hidden glitters. From the bottle, the polish looks really nice, but the polish pretty much overpowered the glitters & I didn't want to keep layering until I had a more hexagon glitters. I did three layers, that's why it's so dark.

Lady Sings the Blues w/ Techno

I added China Glaze Techno on top, & I love the way it turned out! ♥ Glitter!

Lady Sings the Blues w/ Techno, topped with Lady Sings the Blue again

Since LSTB was a bit of the opaque side, I added another layer of that on top of Techno. The outcome was amazing! Matches the other LSTB swatches I've seen online, kinda.

FOTD: Hong Kong Cafe

Now that Christmas is over & done with, my schedule is opening up. I still have so many things to do that I'm lagging on. Oops! Good thing I have a few food entries in my drafts. Ha. =] Happy holidays, everyone! 2010 is almost over!

12/16 Hong Kong Cafe is a new restaurant, I don't even think it has been half a year yet. The restaurants in this exact location only last a couple of years & then on with the next. Let's see how long this one will last. It was my first time dining in there, as oppose to my last take out order. Normally the service doesn't bother me, but in this place it did. Our waiter didn't seem to know the food when we ordered & he was slow in giving us our plates, so we got it ourselves. The food was just okay, similar to what I can find at home.

NOTD: Marbled Peppermints

I tried. I failed on the outcome I had in mind. It looks pretty decent though, but not how I wanted. I was going for the "candy cane" look, but came out with "peppermints." Also, only one nail (middle finger) came out nice, & not pink looking. Lol. I stopped after one hand. I shall try again sooner or later. Happy Christmas Eve!

Salsa & Snow White

I used Sation Snow White as the base color & marbled with China Glaze Salsa & Sation Snow White. If only they all turned out like my middle finger.

Christmas Party

12/15 This was the first time I went to my dad's Christmas party at his work. Kinda random when my mom asked me if I wanted to go. Sure why not, it was a nice way to end finals that day. Haha. The night started with orderves, & that disappeared really fast! The cheese platter lasted the whole night. & I tried each & every one. Ha. Food was just okay, everything was pretty much gone by the time I went to get my food. I enjoyed myself though. A bittersweet day it was. Finals done. Christmas party. & The day my Disneyland ticket  I got from volunteering expired, which I didn't get a chance to use :(

Mmm, cheese!

Love the different color lights!

Haha, I still get entertained by the slightest things.

Zoya Spoons + Color Plates

Zoya had an offer for 6 free color spoons the other week, so I took advantage of that. Since shipping was free, I made a second order, but without the promo code because I saw that it came with a few color plates. It's a good deal! Just order a color spoon for $0.50 + free shipping & you'll get more colors to see. I tried to get as close of an accurate color match as real life, but my flash is a little overpowering.

Roxy - Astra - Nova - Pru - Dovima - Midori - Malia
Free Zoya Color Spoons Promo + 1
Roxy, Asta, & Nova are a little misleading because of my flash.
(Click on the picture above to see the full spoons)

Tiffany - Gloria - Crystal - Lisa - Sarah - Valerie
Zoya Flame Collection

Kym - Carrie Ann - Karina - Cheryl - Julieanne - Edyta
 Zoya WICKED & Wonderful Collection

Kelly - Stacy - Burke - Kristi - Cola - Shawn
 Zoya Wicked & WONDERFUL Collection

When I was looking at colors on the Zoya website, Shawn was one of the colors that stuck out to me. So gorgeous! I was even considering getting it from their three free nail polishes offer, BUT little did I know I already own this color! Lol, fail. I own a few bottles of Zoya, but I have yet to wear any of them. x__x

Charla - Veruschka - Savita -Nina

& Since my second order came with a blank row of plates, I used it with the Zoya colors I had. Note: These four colors + Shawn are the only Zoya bottles I own, the rest are just a swatch. There's about ten colors from the color plates/spoons that I wouldn't mind owning... =)

Are there any colors that you really want?

Johnny Cupcake x Hello Kitty

JC x HK

A collaboration the SO was excited for since I spotted photos from the Small Gift event. It came & was sold out just like that. While I was doing my last final online, the SO sat in front of his laptop refreshing the page over & over until it was selling on the website. Lol. He wanted a shirt, but that was too much for his budget. We're saving for the happiest place on earth! ^__^ So in the end, he got me stickers! Yay for stickers, I love them! I just thought they were a bit pricey for stickers. Ha. Let's see if he's tempted during the second batch release.

Cute Sticker Seal!

Stickers!

I'm deciding if I want Johnny Cupcake Kitty to live with Stormtrooper Kitty on my laptop.

NOTD: Christmas Party!

My current mani. Very festive & ready for the holidays! I just love layering glitters! Overall, I used three coats of China Glaze Emerald Sparkle, one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust & two coats of China Glaze Party Hearty from their Holiday 2010 collection. No top coat.

FOTD: Little Yangon

FOTD... Haha, normally on blogs I would see that as "Face of the Day," but in my case, it's "Food of the Day" for my fatty-self!  Nom nom ^__^

12/14 So, this was my second time ordering from Little Yangon (Daly City), or just Burmese food in general So far so good! I'm slowing trying one new dish each time. I shouldn't have a problem with the taste, since it's very similar to it's neighboring countries, Laos & Thailand. & Those food I'm used to. Yay for Groupon, $15 meal for $7! These two dishes were to go orders, but the appearance didn't appeal to me from the take-out boxes & container, so I moved them over to a plate & bowl. Much better! I'm a sucker for food presentation.

Tea Leaf Salad

Tea Leaf Salad

Salad prepared with imported Burmese tea leaves, lettuce, tomatoes, dried grounded shrimp, sesame seeds, fried garlic, peanuts, yellow and green split -- from the menu. This was my first time trying this dish, & it's my favorite out of the two I got! It had a zesty, spicy & crunchy taste to it. I wouldn't mind if this dish had more tomatoes though.

Ohn Noh Kaw Swe

(Coconut Chicken Noodles Soup) Burmese Style coconut chicken soup with egg noodles, served with cilantro, eggs, and lemons -- so it says from the menu.

NOTD: HK pt. 2

Hi guys! How's everyone? Good, great,  & wonderful, I hope!

& Yay, done with finals! No more being MIA. =)

I recycled the design on my ring finger from my previous mani. I'm trying to see how long the decals can last, & so far the image below is from day 4 + another layer of top coat applied. I'm on day 11 right now & it pretty much looks the same. I don't think I can last with the same design on my finger any longer! Haha, it's going off today.

Ruby Pumps & Lemon Fizz

I replaced my previous blue with three coats of China Glaze Ruby Pumps from their Wizard of Ohh Ahz Collection. & Placed a half pearl on each of those fingers. Ruby Pumps is my favorite red out of all the reds I have! I just love the way it shimmers! Too bad I couldn't capture how gorgeous it really looks in person! I think it's a must own & it's perfect for the holidays. I might have to find myself a second bottle for backup.

Cheese Cheese Cheese

Procrastination before I face finals week...

Anyways, I think cheese is my guilty pleasure. It's great for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, & snacking too! My mom used to call me a little mouse when I was younger because I always wanted a slice of American cheese. Ha. Too bad I can't eat that by itself anymore.

Filipino Spaghetti smothered in Mozzarella Cheese

Mozzarella Cheese & Spaghetti

11/16 Filipino spaghetti.. it's one of the perfect comfort food for me. My favorite part is the little slice of hot dogs within the sauce. Yum! I prefer this over the traditional spaghetti and meatballs. Even though I smothered my spaghetti in melted Mozzarella, I just had to have some of the not melted one too xD That's what happens when there's ~five pounds in reach! Oh & it taste even better with a little pesto sauce added!

Mix of Chicken, Hot Sauce, Mozzarella, Parmesan, & Pesto melted on Potato Bread

11/17 A little too much spread for one piece of bread? Indeed, it was! Next time I'll cut down on the amount of cheese. Haha. A quick & easy late night snack :)

Eek, forgot to take an after picture.

Pizza #2

11/27 These two pizzas are what the SO made for his friends. How kind of him. One of his friends thought that they were frozen pizzas. x) He always wanted to make his own pizza for awhile now & he finally did it. Too bad those were not made from scratch. We made the "tester" pizza crust from an instant mix that just needed water. That turned out really small & flimsy, but the dough tasted really good and soft. Ha. The five pounds of cheese from Costco is almost done though!

Sliders

12/8 Lastly, mini burgers from the other day. The original plan was to make Sloppy Joes, but I requested burgers instead since I didn't have the right cheese. I love love love eating my Sloppy Joes with habanero cheese, the spiciness adds a nice kick to it. So, mini burgers it was. We used pandesal for the buns, pepper jack cheese, & dressed it up with honey barbecue sauce & sriracha sauce.

I just made myself hungry! =P

NOTD: Hello Kitty on a Rainy Day

I'm going to try putting NOTD instead of Nails in my title now. Let's see if I can remember to keep on doing it. Anyways, lately the weather has been really cold. I'm always wearing lots of layers under my hoodies or jacket w/ my scarf & gloves, + abusing my HK boots. The sun seems to always be out & about, but the coldness follows. The other night was rainy, & that went away by morning time. By then I figured out this mani! Hello Kitty inspired, & very simple.

Caribbean Blue & Lemon Fizz

I used three coats of China Glaze Caribbean Blue from their Bahama Blues Collection & three coats of China Glaze Lemon Fizz from their Up & Away collection. I love these two colors combo together, however they remind me of spring & summer. Also added Hello Kitty decals on my ring finger. I love it! & I finally took time to clean my cuticles after painting my nails, it makes the mani so much better than before. I just always get lazy doing so. Ha. & I missed a spot while applying my top coat on my index finger. Hmm, I never really noticed the color difference between the polish with and without top coat. Interesting.

Hello Kitty <3

I'm itching to change the colors of my nails already, but I really like this mani & wanna see how many days the decals can hold out. The next few manicures will continue to have the same design on my ring finger. =)

That Love Comes

That Love Comes

I wanted to find a drama that was short with under 15 episodes & this was it. That Love Comes,  a mainland drama, was about 30-something minutes per episode, which in my opinion is very very short. The intro, credits, & endless amount of flashbacks didn't help with the length either. It had a cute storyline to it, but it was just a tad bit boring to me. I liked how Joe Cheng, the male lead, is a photographer though!  & The gift towards the end of the drama was super adorable! <3 Love it & the puppy too! Now off to the next drama, while I procrastinate on the essay I have due tomorrow night.

Nails: Sweatshirt Inspired

I like having matching or similar items with the SO. We have matching Disneyland hoodies, mugs,  Kid Robot flip flops, key chains, Sanrio hoody/shirt, beanies, thick Old Navy socks, tokidoki caps & much more. These sweatshirts are the newest to add onto our growing collection! It's corny & a little embarrassing, but we like it! Aha. I already know that we're going to abuse these sweatshirts until Christmas comes around.  Haha. Check out your local Disney Store if you want these! I think I'm getting a little too excited for Christmas! :)

Christmas Sweatshirts (yay for self-timer!)

Anyways, onto the nails... they are inspired by my sweatshirt! Mainly focusing on Minnie Mouse & the accessories Mickey has. Mickey's scarf on my index finger, Micky Mouse in rhinestones & pearl on my middle finger, Minnie's bow on my ring finger, & I tried making a mistletoe on my little finger. Does it look like one?

Sweatshirt inspired!

I used China Glaze Party Hearty over Wet 'n Wild Red Red for my thumb. LA Colors Art Deco in Bright Green over Sation Snow White on index finger. Wet 'n Wild Black Creme on my middle finger. Sation Snow White dots over Wet 'n Wild Red Red on my ring finger. & Lastly, I used LA Colors Art Deco in Quirky Turquoise layered on Bright Green & Nail Star Two-Way Nail Art Pen & Brush in black on my little finger. Three coats for each base color & one coat of the glitter polish.

Red Red - Black Creme - Snow White - Party Hearty

Bright Green - Quirky Turquoise - Black

Red Red - Black Creme

I love when Walgreens have sales on Wet 'n Wild. I mean it's already cheap as it is at $0.99, but when it's on sale it goes as low as $0.59! Haha, I just love the idea of getting something on sale. & Black Creme is actually my favorite black out of all the black polishes I have. I love how true to the color it is with only one coat, & it looks amazing after two coats, however it does chip fast! :( No matter how many different topcoat I try, at least one finger has a little chip at the top.

Party Hearty

Ahh, Christmas in a bottle! Love this one!

The names says it all Party Hearty, indeed it does seem like a Christmas party! Definitely one of my favorites out of this holiday collection! Can't wait to see what China Glaze come out with for next year's holiday collection. Hopefully more glitters! W/ big glitter chunks!
