Layers of Flakies

Yesterday I changed my blog layout to get into the winter spirit! I wish I lived near snow, the closest is a four hour drive. When I was making the banner, it reminded me of all the times I used to make layouts on Xanga. Haha, that was many many many years ago!

Anyways, I'm bummed that I missed out on Clairvoyant by ~25 minutes :( The bf told me to just layer another flakie on top of my current mani. I did & it turned out amazing! I've been wearing this mani for over a week now!

My previous mani was Wet n Wild Black Creme w/ three coats of Nubar 2010. It was beautiful by itself, but look how amazing it is with another flakie polish! I added two coats of Nail Inc. The Old Vic Overglaze Top Coat. The blue flakies are so gorgeous & added a nice touch. I'm in love! If only the flakie didn't come in a set & just sold by itself.

I have yet to put a matte top coat over this mani! If I do, I'll edit this post & add a few more pics!
Here it is with Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love!

Wet n Wild Black Creme w/ Nubar 2010

Hello everyone! Here is my Thanksgiving mani! Three coats of Nubar 2010 over Wet n Wild Black Creme. Isn't it lovely?! I love it a lot! It reminds of the changing leaves in Autumn. Nubar 2010 is a flakie polish that gives of a orange, gold, yellow green reflection, depending on the lighting. It gives every polish that extra kick, especially over darker ones! I included what the mani would look like with 1 & 2 coats of 2010, along with Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love on top. Prepare for lots of pictures! I couldn't decide which ones to use because they were all so gorgeous! I'll let you guys be the judge of that!

Flowers for Thanksgiving

I haven't done a flower mani in awhile, so I thought Thanksgiving or autumn colors would be perfect. My base color is two coats of China Glaze V. The rest of the polishes I used were Brownstone, Peachy Keen, Cha Cha Cha, Hi-Tek, Seniorita Bonita, all China Glaze, & lastly LA Colors Art Deco 24k Glitter. I achieved the flowers & dots by using a dotting tool. I finished the overall mani with Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love.

My favorite one would be my middle finger.

Also, I added a little poll on my sidebar. What brand of nail polish would you like to see more of? Because if it isn't obvious, my go to polishes are always China Glaze.

China Glaze Sea Spray w/ flowery stamp

Good morning :) My current mani is two coats of China Glaze Sea Spray from their Anchors Away collection with a flowery stamp. Sea Spray is a soft light blue that is leaning towards the gray side, definitely my top two from that collection (Below Deck being first). The image I used is from Shany SH20 plate stamped in Konad Special Polish Black. I finished the overall mani with one of my trusty matte top coat, Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Misbehaved

Oh nail strips, I didn't expect to encounter you again so fast. After raving to my bf's sister about how long lasting Hot Wire was for me, she bought a couple. She picked up Check It Out for me & Misbehaved for herself. After applying Misbehaved on herself, she gave me the extras. So here it is, Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Misbehaved.

Misbehaved

Misbehaved has a shimmery champagne color base with a black fishnets design. You can easily achieve this look by using Konad/fauxnad. I did a fishnet mani before using plate BM209, seen here.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Hot Wire

Have you tried the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips? This was my first time all thanks to Blue Polish! Today is day 12 of wearing the polish strips!

Hot Wire (w/ flash)
Hot Wire

I wore the Halloween edition nail polish strip in Hot Wire as my last mani of October & to end my month long of Halloween mani's. The Salon Effects mentions that the polish strips last up to ten days, so I wanted to put that to the test. More than ten days of the same thing on my nails... I haven't done that in a long time.

Inside the little box.

The package came with 2 packs of 8 nail strips. Each pack had enough strips to give yourself a full mani. That makes the price of the product a little more reasonable.

8 Strips

So did the nail strips last 10 days on my nails? Yes, it did! I have been wearing the nail strips for 12 days today, without base or topcoat & only experienced a little tip wear. I was able to get a fitting size for every finger except for my pinky, the smallest strip was a little on the small size. I read that you can stretch it out, I need to try that next time.

Hot Wire (w/ flash)

This is 12 days of wearing the Salon Effects. It still looks good, doesn't it? I just had a little bit of tip wear, but other than that, it looks as good as the first day I had it on. I should of taken a picture on the first day to compare it. My nails grew quite a bit during this nail adventure, it needs a little filing.

Slight tip wear

Overall, I think the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips are a good deal if you're looking for a mani that'll last awhile. I'll definitely be buying a few in the future now, like Snow Bunny & Winter Funderland from the holiday collection.
